Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has inaugurated a new Board of Directors for the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA). While Mustafa Obi is chairman of the board, Chinedu Onyiuke is its secretary.
Other members include: Director General/Director General (MD/CEO), ANSIPPA, Mr. Mark Okoye, Attorney General, Prof. Sylvia Ifemeje, Commissioner of Finance, Mr. Ifetu Onejeme, Commissioner of Lands, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, and Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Chiamaka Nnake.
The others are Trade and Commerce Commissioner, Mr. Obinna Ngonadi, Mr. Sammy Chidoka, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, Dr. Marcel Offormata and Dr. Emeka Okeke respectively.
ANSIPPA’s functions, among others, include: holding and guiding investors in the state to ensure that the process of doing business is streamlined and managed efficiently, identifying specific viable infrastructure projects in ministries, departments and agencies, as well as inviting interested investors to participate through public-private partnerships (PPPs), concessions, JVs, etc.
Other functions include strengthening strategic partnerships and improving the ability of current and future investors to create jobs, as well as expanding export market access, managing the state’s investment portfolio and to partner with international development agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to leverage their technical support and funding to improve the investment climate in Anambra.
Speaking of the agency’s mandate, Soludo said, “This is an important government agency, and we expect it to play a critical role in the industrialization of Anambra; by creating this Anambra of our vision, to be the hub of industry, leisure, entertainment and technology in Nigeria and Africa. To do this, this agency should play a decisive role.
